I have used CDPD and CDMA. The CDPD works nice since it is flat rate. CDMA is good too but you pay per call.
CDPD is only available for H/PC and H/PC Pro devices right now since it requires a PC Card.
CDMA and GSM are available for the Palm-size PCs.

It is understand that a mix of services may be required to cover the US. So what I'm looking for is anyone who has experience with this good or bad. Any information at this time is welcomed.

I am in Sales and wish my company purchased CE for me! I had to do it on my own.
Regarding wireless CDPD is ok, it gets at best 19200 and flat rate plans for unlimited use are around 60 a month (Go America and others).
I am in CA and as I can wait a bit, I am waiting for the Richocet wireless 128,000 buad service begining in the fall/winter this year. Their current speeds are 28800 with $29.99 unlimited internet plus a free e-mail. Only dissadvantage is their technology uses attenna on light-posts which only have 1/2 mile radius, thus their deployment is a bit slow. It should be interesting to see how they can deploy them quickly, the got 600 million from MCI World com to expand it. At least for me in CA, the coverage is alread available, I think they plan around 14 new metro areas this year and if you can not connect wirelessly then you can use lan lines.
