1) I sync w/my desktop when in the office. When I leave for home or travel, I take the CE device (HPC) and catch up on emails. The problem is I cannot send the emails from ActivSync and it won’t let me copy them to my POP account. Am I missing something?

2) I write WORD docs and send them to clients/others via email from the HPC. Some people tell me they are unreadable – can I convert before I send?

Hi,
Are you using ActiveSync to send and recieve e-mail or SMTP/POP3? You can't mix methods to send or reply to an e-mail.

As for your second question, are you saving in RTF format? This is pretty universal for word processors.

CHRIS - I am using ActiveSync to link my desktop to my CE. When I leave and head out of town, I want to be able to send those messages that have been synced from my desktop inbox to my Activesync inbox. Can I send using ActiveSync by dialing a local POP number for my service or do I have to call in to my network host? I assumed I could not so I set up a POP account to check email when on the road. It sounds like I have it backwards. What I want to do is to sync with the desktop, take the synced emails, reply, send and receive when on the road and then resync all of the items. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
If you use POP3 and ActiveSync you may run into problems with synchronizing the e-mail. ActiveSync flags messages to send later when you synchronize.

When you sync messages with attachments, Activesync automatically converts them so they are not in a format that desktop users are able to read - Pocket Word. That's why I suggested using RTF instead.
