Hi, hopefully you can help a newbie with a problem. I was given a 3630, no disk, etc just the PPC. I have downloaded activesync and mobile device center and cannot get the PPC to sync with my PC. I'm reasonably sure it's due to the PC running Vista, but that's what I'm stuck with.
The PPC shows in device manager as working, shows as connected in the PPC screen, but when it trys to connect, I get an error. When I check activesync, it says no partnerships and nothing that can form a partnership. I tried the work-through you have and I get a stuck pop-up saying please wait while windows mobile devcie center starts. By stuck I mean it just sits there and I have to use task manager to quit it.
Any suggestions would be tried quickly and with gratitude(Smile
Ray

Hi,
This is by design. The iPaq 3600 series runs Pocket PC 2000 or Pocket PC 2002 and these versions are not supported by Windows Mobile Device Center.

Thanks, Chris, now is there a work-around? I can set up my older PC, running XP, just for the IPAQ. I mostly use it for reading ebooks. I will have to get ereader installed but that should be possible under XP, right?

Hi,
You could do one of the following:
1. Copy files via USB with Windows Mobile Device Center but not sync.
2. Install VMWare and XP as well as ActiveSync and sync via USB.
3. Use your old XP PC to copy files.
