hello all,

i am the proud owner of a sx45 and sx45i, cool machines and the nearest relative of the e-125. anyway down to the point. i recently pruchased the sx45i off ebay, good working order etc. my problem was that whoever owned it before managed to remove links and programs off the Rom, this i though was not possible as they are not flash-able
as a solution to my problems i ran Total commander on both handsets and using the sx45 (GSM) as a template moved the CE components over to the SX45i and voila it now works. My concern is i can write to the ROM, this should not be possible as all my fixes should only exist in RAM and when i leave battery out should render the machine back to the same state as i bought it, with fubarred OS. but not so.
So.....my question is if this is possible i could obtain updated CE shell i.e CE 5.0 or 6.0 and replace the 3.0 shell as they all run on MIPS architecture and effectively create a MIPS CE 6.0 image capable of running on a NEC VR4122 core i.e sx45 / e-125 architecture
let me know ur ideas people
