Does anyone know if the .wav format is used on the e115, e125, e200, and em-500 models? If so, what is the sample size (8-bit, for example) and the bit rates (8,11 and/or 22 kHz)? Thanks a lot.

Those Casio device mostly share a much broader range of WAV bitrates and frequencies than your short list. I think the E-200 dropped the IMA ADPCM codec which the earlier MIPS-based Casios used to great advantage, for ultra-low bitrate recording (even at 4kb/sec - 8KHz the audio was startlingly clear!). But the IMA ADPCM codec is not supported on many other devices, and so that's probably just as well in terms of file sharing of audio notes. I eventually used Pocket Mixer, one of the rare player/editor softwares which can open these files, to convert them to a more common codec and slightly higher bitrate.

Most of the WAV files generated in common PC-based software should be able to play back on an older Casio. I'd probably stay away from 48KHz though, going no higher than 44.1KHz, as I think that higher frequency is not supported. Or that could just be for WMA files... I forget.
