Well I finally can connect my computer to Casio BUT now ActiveSync 3.1 connects to synch files, load programs no problem.

When starting up, I get an OUTLOOK error message- illegal operation. Details= invalid fault in MS09.dll.
I called CASIO and suggested to reload Outlook, done. THen suggested to go to Outlook's Help, then do Repair, done. Deleted ActiveSync and reinstalled.
Still getting the same errors.
I see someone mentioned opening Outlook to synch, I'll try that.
Any other suggestions, I can't wait until this works properly.

I also noticed that I can't get Microsoft's windows CE site, it goes to Pocket PC. Is that taking over?

Thanks
Helene

Did you install that Outlook BACKUP patch offered by MS? After I installed that to Outlook, everytime I try to sync with Outlook NOT running I get some sort of GPF. Never had a problem with Outlook not running yet still sync'ing, until I applied the patch that adds a backup option to Outlook. Just another regression failure.

Hi,
I suggest uninstalling Outlook, rebooting then reinstalling it. The problem sounds like a DLL that Outlook uses is incompatible or corrupt.

Also, it's helpful to know what version of Outlook you are using. I have used Outlook 98 and 2000 with ActiveSync 3.1.

HI,
Thanks for all the quick responses. I opened Outlook as soon as I could and finally it all synchronized.
I'll look for the Outlook patch because it is a pain to have to hurry to open Outlook.

It's too bad there isn't a proper list in a central location that puts all these little details together. It would save so much time and effort for many. But it seems we are all on our own to search it out.
Luckily there are some people out there that help out.

Thanks Helene
