I just came into possession of 4 E-125 and a two others that don't have model numbers. These latter two recharged with no problems and are working fine but the 4 E-125 don't seem to want to even try to recharge. When I plug them into the cradle the light turns amber for about a second then goes out completely. Any ideas as to the problem? Will it refuse to power up if the battery is dead even if I have the power cable plugged directly into the unit? Really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

It seems to my recollection that the backup battery, a little Li-Ion cell like a CR-2032 or close to that size, was required to carry at least a small charge before those Casios would power on. The door for it is under the main battery I think, and there's a little delicate switch there which both locks the backup battery door and toggles on device function. The main battery can be worn to nothing and it should still operate on external power, provided that main battery is at least in place. I may be a bit off with this, as the closest model I owned was a Casio E-115.

Thanks Gerald. I wish it was that simple. I replaced the backup battery with one that I had just pulled from a computer and knew was good but I still have the same problem. You would think that the unit would power up without the battery but who knows. I have 6 of these little darlings and all of them have the same problem. I guess I will see about getting one new main battery and see if that works in any or all of them. Thanks again!
