In the hardware specification document for Casio Cassiopeia E-200 (seen here: http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/ce/en/e200/e200hwe.pdf) it is not mentioned if infrared port (IrDA 1.2 compliant) is SIR only of SIR/FIR. Do you have more info about this?
I am interested in FIR speeds (up to 4Mbps instead of 115.2kbps of SIR). I want to know if E-200 native hardware and software is FIR capable.
I read that iPaqs H36xx/37xx series (older than E-200) have in fact native FIR hardware (seen here: http://www.handhelds.org/Compaq/iPAQH3600/iPAQ_H3600.html)). Then if you use the appropriate driver (for example, this one http://www.clarinetsys.com/en/improve-ir-performance.htm) you can get faster communications.
This could allow to take advantage of UMTS mobile phones which works up to 384Kbps (too much speed for SIR hardware).
So, Do you know if that clarinetsys driver (or another driver) will work with our E-200?
Thanks in advance.
