Hi, I am new to this PDA stuff. I am on a tight budget, and I am trying to put together a PDA GPS unit. I aquired a compact flash GPS reciever. I am trying to find a cheap, used PDA to run oziexplorer on. I have been looking at the Casio Cassiopeia e125. Would one of these work? Any other cheap suggestions? I was also wondering if you can use a CF memory card and the GPS reciever at the same time?
I would appreciate any help as I am new to this stuff.
You could use a casio e125 as a gps unit. Just keep in mind the screen on this model is excellent (one of the best) indoors but far from the best outdoors. Also, since you will be using the cf slot for the gps unit, you will not be able to use a cf memory card at the same time. There is another option that may interest you. You may be able to find an etrex or "mouse" type gps unit that would hook up to the serial port at the bottom of the unit. This would allow you to use the cf slot for memory. This is however a cumbersome approach.
